A Life=No Posts

Ever since I got a blog Howard and Edgar have made fun of me for writing about my life versus living it. They say that since I have no life, I post about my life.

If you have a blog you know that in order to have a blog, you must have a somewhat interesting life...or you'd have nothing to post about, right?

I have a new dilemma.

The last two weeks of my life have been super busy.
I've had camp, several small trips for my vacation and a long week back in the office, plus tons of hang out time with friends.

Because of my busy life, I've had no time to post about all of the amazing things I've been doing.

Are Howard and Edgar right? now that I've had a life I gave no time to blog? I feel I've been having a life, but I was at least able to post about it.

What do you think?
Is blogging a product of good life or a product of a lack of life?

He is On American Soil

Just got the call...

Howard is here!

He just landed and will be meeting us for lunch!

Can't wait!

"The Engagement Post"

Finally...the long awaited engagement post...

while at Seal Beach the other day, the girls and I decided that we would do a photo shoot of what we thought were the cheesiest engagement photos around...

here they are:

The: Long distance holding hands shot
The: Happily playing on the beach
The: He lifts you up in the air
The: He spins you around
The: Cute piggy back ride
The: Playful frolic
The: Looking off into the distance
The: Warm embrace
The: Looking lovingly into each other's eyes
The proposal
The: "A ring!"
The: "Oh my gosh! I'm engaged!"
Note: No ring appears to be on her finger.

So much fun!
And just in case you're wondering...we are available for bookings :)

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!

Yesterday a few of us girls went out to Seal Beach for a late lunch/early dinner at Ruby's and a romantic walk on the beach.

What resulted was something a bit different.

Today was a busy day, but I promise that tomorrow the "Engagement Post" will be up with TONS of pictures to prove that what happens at the beach...stays at the beach.

Tomorrow

At about this same time tomorrow, there's a GREAT possibility (being that there aren't any flight cancellations, delays, etc.) that Howard will be back on American soil.

All I have to say about that is...WOO HOO!!!

I have missed Howard so much and am so excited to see him :)

Howard, I love you and can't wait to hang out!!!

Damaris

Yesterday afternoon/night my friend Damaris and I hung out...

I met up with her at her place
Shopped at Company D
Ate peanut butter cups
Went to Disneyland
"Shopped" for a watch
Ate BBQ beef skewers
Ate bacon wrapped asparagus skewers
Ate tiger tail bread sticks
Drank water
Ate a funnel cake
Ate a jalapeno cheese pretzel
Rode Pirates
Rode Thunder Mountain
Ran...and ran
Met some of Damaris' co-workers
Ran...and ran
Rode Tower of Terror

We shared all of our food, talked endlessly, and laughed so much...

friendships like these are few :)

Quote of the day: "You're my hero" (in rata voice).

A Celebrity Sighting!

Okay...not exactly.

My sister and brother-in-law told me that Luke Wilson is filming a movie at a house that's a couple of blocks over from where they live.

So on Tuesday I decided to drive by...just to take a look.

No Luke...but he was in there, somewhere...

I know the pictures aren't that great...I was driving...so I guess paparazzi wouldn't be a new job description for me?

Just Another Friday Night

Date: Friday, August 3rd
Place: Norm's in Downey
Points of interest:
- Ricky made Bibi throw up and so she threw up on his car door handle in return.
- Rene and I FINALLY had our shared dessert.
- The girls got some men: I got Jorge and Rene, Janette got Edgar and Bibi got stuck with Ricky and David (her cousin).

I'm staying put...

for now.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my academic advisor at Biola.

We planned my last year and scouted out options for my moving to Florida and finishing school from there.

God answered my (and many other peoples') prayers.

I'm gonna' finish school at Biola.

If I'm able to finish my last semester from Florida...great! (this would most likely take place in Jan.-Feb.)
If I'm not, and must finish here in California...great!

Christ Fellowship is open to me finishing school here and then seeing if God still wants me over there, either in January or May. They are SO WONDERFUL!

It's been a great journey and I can't wait to see what God has in store as graduation approaches!

Words to live by

Today, Cookie, Edgar and I were in the office doing some Children's Ministry long term brainstorming for a meeting we have on Wednesday, when two words/phrases came out of Cookie's mouth that I hadn't heard in SUCH A LONG TIME:

kick it
&
jack

When I was in high school, those were words you heard or said almost every day. Now, I alomst NEVER hear them.

Let me use them in sentences (just in case you're unfamiliar with these words):

Hey, don't you kick it over there under those trees? (definition: to hang out)

She's gonna' jack your hot cheetos! (definition: to steal)

Until I heard the words being spoken I didn't realize how much I missed hearing/using them.
I think that those words are the "groovy" and "far out" of my generation.

"Hey, go where you kick it at or they just might jack your spot !" :)

Me...a Reality Star?

Last night, Edgar and German came over to have some hot dogs and play Scrabble.

As I began to unpack the stuff we got at the market I realized I had forgotten the sweet relish. I told the boys about the fact that I really needed relish to go with my hot dog and, as usual, Edgar and I got into it.

Note: Whenever Edgar and I fight/argue/discuss, it's partly laugh and partly fight...but lots of fun. Although we argue and disagree, we always end up on the same page...it's weird.

As we were going back and forth German followed along and as soon as he could get a word in edge wise he said, "You two should have your own reality show...I'd watch."

When he said that it reminded me of when Bibi said, "All I need is a bucket of popcorn when I'm with you two...just sit back and watch."

It got me thinking...wow, I must be really entertaining.
I don't even have to act...just who I am makes good television. And as a reality TV addict...it makes me utterly proud to even be considered a candidate for this branch of entertainment.

My life really does consist of a good show:
*tears
*boy drama
*friends
*laughs
*fashion
*embarrassing moments
*family
*changes

Heck, I'd watch too!

Bibi-S

Earlier this week, as Edgar, Janette and Damaris picked me up from the airport we talked about how I was coming in to a week of non-stop VBS (Vacation Bible School).

Edgar kept calling it BBS.

He really had no idea that it was an acronym for Vacation Bible School.

He felt so dumb when I corrected him, but he decided to keep calling it BBS in commemoration of Bibi.
He said it'd be cute.
