This guy
Robin Thicke.I saw this guy's video on MTV a couple weeks back. I can't even remember the name of the song, but what I can't seem to get out of my head is his high pitched yet alluring voice.
He's a JT (Justin Timberlake) look-alike with a similar range in vocals. When I first saw the video I had to do a double take 'cause I thought it was Justin...but it wasn't.
What's weird about it is that his voice has this perfect combination of annoyance and sultriness that just draws you in. It's kind of scary...every time the video comes on, I want to change the channel...but I can't...he just sucks me in.
I thought he would annoy me if I ever heard him speak (with a name like Robin?)...you know...like be a arrogant pop star...but he wasn't at all-I saw him perform on TRL last week. As he talked to Vanessa he proved to be a charming and humble artist. Check him out if you want.

Jessica's Creek
Yesterday, as I watched "Dawson's Creek" re-runs, I thought about the post I wrote last week about my dream to live somewhere worth taking a walk in.Now although Capeside is a dramatic and sometimes traumatic place to live if you really look at it...it's such a beautiful location. Streams of running water, the local eatery (which Joey's sister happens to own), the outdoor porches, the list goes on and on. It's a place to raise kids in.
What I really love about it is that it's simple enough to still hold some of natures original beauty but still modern enough to let you have a little 21st century fun.
One of the cutest things about it is that only a few years back did it still have a old school theater (if you're a real Dawson's fan you'll remember what I'm talking about). The theater where Dawson and Joey had their first date, where Jen and Dawson almost kissed, where Jen's Grams had a date too, the one they renovated. The Rialto.
Don't worry...I know this is a fictional place.
I just love the feel of a small, simple town. Although I'm a city girl I think Capeside embodies where I would want to live.
Move over Dawson...there's a new girl coming up the creek (and I don't mean Joey).

Am I a Library or What?
I was just looking over my collection of books and noticed that some of my favorites are no longer on my shelf.
I can name a couple of them right off the top of my head:
1. I Kissed Dating Goodbye
2. El Escudero de Dios
3. A Walk To Remember
These three books were borrowed by some of my friends yet have still not been returned to their rightful owner, me.
I lent them out a while ago (one of them, I lent two years ago) but have not gotten them back.
A note to said borrowers: If I were a library you'd owe me a lot of money. Please return these books to me as they are near and dear to my heart. Books I actually completed.

Warn Them When They Fail
To warn is defined as:
1. to make aware of possible harm; caution. 2. to advise; counsel. 3. to give notice in advance. 4. to notify (a person) to go or stay away. 5. to give warning.
All of these definitions tell me that a warning is given before the actual event occurs...right?
Last week someone told me that we would warn a person about the possible negative results of their actions after the actions took place. Am I crazy for thinking that these instructions are crazy?
Why do we wait for people to make a mistake before we instruct them?

Praise Report!
I have two praises to report.
#1 I did get my Disney pass and have been there 3 times in the last 3 weeks.
#2 Bibi did get Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy (yesterday).
Hallelujah!

Up-DATE
My date last night was so engaging.
Someone got married.
Someone "woke-up".
Someones got really sick.
Someone got hurt.
Someone got engaged.
Someones cried.
Someone needs hope.
We will see each other again next week.

Blog-fluence
I am definitely doing my job as a small group leader.
Last Tuesday I got to Angie's house early and so did two of my small group girls (Nancy and Evelyn).
As we were waiting for the rest of the group to show up we began to chat about myspace and how annoyed we were with it.
I brought up my blog and how much more meaningful I find it to be. I found it hard to explain what it was so I decided to borrow Angie's laptop and show them.
I think I've convereted them. My blog influence or blog-fluence (as I like to call it) led them to desire a blog of their own. I hope that this conversion manifests itself in deed and not only in word.

Reasons Why I'd Like to Become a Doctor
Un-finished Business
How come when I see a book I get this huge desire to read and devour it, yet when I begin to read it's so easy for me to only read it half way through?
I have at least 10 books on my shelf that I started but have not finished.
I want to finish reading them this year.
Does this only happen to me?

A Walk to Remember
Yesterday, I took a walk.
I haven't taken a walk anywhere in my neighborhood since I moved there (almost 2 years ago).
I live in California which means I drive a car...EVERYWHERE. Even to the Mc Donald's that's literally one block away from my house!
My car broke down a week and a half ago and I've been bumming rides off friends and family, but still I had no need to walk anywhere.
Until yesterday.
Wednesday is my day off and since I've had no car, the last two Wednesdays have been spent with me, myself and I, alone in my house...all day.
I got hungry and decided to take a walk to Mc Donald's to pick up some lunch.
I have to first say that it was a beautiful day. It had just rained the day before which meant clear skies and crisp air. As I ventured down the street I realized that I had NEVER walked down my block.
Side Note: I grew up at the last house I lived at which means that I did walk around my old neighborhood...A LOT! I lived there through my childhood and teen car-less years so I was FORCED to walk.
But yesterday I realized how much I've been missing out on.
There's just something about the sounds, smells and sights of your neighborhood. Things that you can't capture from the inside of a moving car. Things that I have not experienced in a long time.
As I hopped and skipped over the remaining puddles from the previous day's rain, crossed the street and smiled at the woman behind the counter at MY Mc Donald's I truly enjoyed my time in my neighborhood.
How many of us run through life at OUR own pace and don't really think about how much we are alienating around us?
My walk yesterday has inspired me to (when I "grow up") move into a neighborhood worth taking a walk in. It has also inspired me to marry someone who will walk alongside me (literally and figuratively) as we take in the sights and sounds of our lives. I want to experience my life...not just drive through it.
And to quote Nicholas Sparks, "it was a walk to remember in every way."
